  2. BUSTED • November 23-27, 2009: Tiger Woods is busted for cheating. The National Enquirer printed that “Woods has been having an affair” with a nightclub promoter from New York City, Rachel Uchitel.

  3. The Fight • Stories about Woods and a fight with his wife flooded the airwaves and internet. A neighbor of Woods calls 911 reporting he had crashed his Cadillac.

  4. Word Travels Fast • After only a few days in the media, the Woods scandal is everywhere. There is even a twitter devoted to following all the breaking news. It produced 44 tweets, but only draws in 86 followers. • https://twitter.com/#!/tigerscandal

  5. TMZ Reports • TMZ reports Elin (his wife) had scratched Woods’s face in an argument and tried to flee in his vehicle. They also report they Elin attacked the SUV with a golf club as Woods tried to escape, again.

  8. A December to Forget • Over the first 2 weeks of December 2010, 7 women come forward claiming to be a mistress to Woods. Some are paid large amounts of money and sell out their story. • This was covered in all forms of media (Twitter and Facebook, daily news broadcasts, national television broadcasts, magazines, radio, newspapers)

  9. Moral of the Story • If you are famous, DON’T HAVE AN AFFAIR! Apparently all the money in the world isn’t enough for some people. Media coverage on big stories is only a few clicks away. • Audiences are now bigger than ever. News stories can go worldwide in just seconds.
